Enhanced Cargo Transport: COSCO Shipping Group and Ocean Network Shipping strengthen the Middle East - India service network

2024-10-16

To enhance freight traffic between the Middle East and India, China COSCO Shipping Group (COSCO) and Ocean Network Shipping (ONE) have announced an upgrade to their service network. The collaboration aims to optimize logistics and improve connectivity to meet the region's growing demand for efficient maritime transport.
The Middle East-India trade corridor has seen a surge in activity, driven by growing economic ties and rising consumer demand. Recognizing this trend, COSCO and ONE are committed to optimizing routes and shipping plans to provide more reliable and timely services. By combining resources and expertise, the two shipping giants will deliver higher frequencies and greater capacity, ensuring companies can effectively meet their supply chain needs.
The enhanced service network will feature advanced ship deployment, resulting in faster turnaround times and shorter voyage times. This is particularly important for industries that rely on just-in-time delivery, such as electronics, textiles and perishable goods. With new service improvements, shippers can expect greater reliability and flexibility, which are essential in today's fast-paced market.
The India Coastal Express route will include Mundra, Pipaavu, Mengaloor, Cochin, Colombo, Katupali, Visakhapatnam, Katupali, Colombo, Cochin, Mengaloor and finally return to Mundra, ensuring extensive connectivity of the Indian coastline and major Gulf ports.
According to Alphaliners, COSCO will launch the OUX route, calling at ABU Dhabi, Sohar and Ajman before circling back to ABU Dhabi. OUX services run weekly and are operated by a 1000 TEU container ship.
The cooperation between COSCO Group and ONE represents a key step in enhancing cargo transportation services. By focusing on efficiency and reliability, trade links between the Middle East and India have been strengthened and both companies have taken a leading position in the growing maritime logistics sector.
